AEV Jeep Brute Double Cab SEMA Concept is now Reality

The new Brute Double Cab for the four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited makes the CJ-8 Scrambler of old look like a kid toy.

With this awesome amalgamation AEV is filling the long sought after Wrangler-Truck (they should have called it a Wruck) void that hardcore fans want but, Chrysler just won’t seem to build.

After being stretched 23 inches to accommodate the 61 x 60 inch lined pickup bed, the 216 inch Brute Jeep is a full 30 inches longer than a standard 4-door Unlimited and 3 inches longer than a full-size Ford F-150. I wouldn’t make it my first choice for those trying to pass the parallel parking portion of a driving test.

Ready to pull out the checkbook? With no price set and an “fourth quarter” release date, AEV already has a waiting list so, get in line.

Current owners of AEV vehicles and their network of certified Jeep dealers will get a first crack during the initial launch, with Joe Public at the back of the line.

While there is no word on cost, we do know the two-door conversion kit created back in 2002 will set you back a cool $9k and with the added necessary cost of factory labor, the 4-door Brute is likely to set you back quite a bit more.

Although the two-door package does come in a kit, this isn’t exactly a weekend project for you and your weekend warrior buddies… unless they happen to be master mechanics.

The 2-door Brute kit comes with everything you need but, does require the small task of separating the body from the frame, cutting the cab in half, and welding the new rear body in place. The guys at AEV estimate 60 hours of work so, you’ll probably want to double that.

As a third time Jeep owner on a twelve year Wrangler streak, I think I am qualified to say… awesome.
