If you’re like my boyfriend and have to eat every two hours, then the Urbanspoon app is for you.
No matter where you are, this easy to use free application will lead your growling stomach to some tasty food. Urbanspoon’s menu gives you plenty of options to find what you’re looking for. If you’re in the mood for something in particular, you can browse through a list of neighborhoods, types of food, features (which includes places that deliver), and popular eats to find it.
If unsure, choose the SHAKE option. This uses your GPS position to locate restaurants in your area. The app will have a list of towns near your, the food category (i.e. bar or Thai), and the price range represented by dollar signs. Simply shake your phone and watch Urbanspoon scroll through the list. It offers a random selection in your vicinity, which appears under the shake button. Not only does it tell you the name of the place and food category, it also gives you the phone number and address. If you’re in an area and don’t know your way around, hit the address on the screen and Urbanspoon presents a map!
Don’t like the suggestion? Shake again. Or if you’re in need of a quick convenient meal, use the NEARBY feature to find the closest restaurant to you instead.
