Traxxas, the makers of speedy ready-to-run RC cars, boats, and planes have a new gun in it’s arsenal, the XO-1 Supercar.
The new 1/7th scale speed demon uses a brushless electric motor and LiPo batteries to get from 0 to 100mph in under 5 seconds! Don’t get too excited yet, at 8.6lbs, this 27inch rocket ship is a $1100 explosion waiting to happen. In other words, this toy isn’t for the inexperienced. Video after the jump…
In an effort to keep the beast under control, Traxxas’s new TQi 2.4GHz Intelligent Radio System is fully programmable with an iPhone or iPod touch, allowing users to fine tune and save profile settings for steering, throttle sensitivity, breaking, servo end points, and more.
The Traxxas link iPhone application also records speed, temperature, RPM’s, and voltage in real time, allowing users to save and record min, max, or average values. The demo video is so impressive, this controller probably deserves it’s own article.
If you have the cash to spend, real estate to race, and the Traxxas “skill level 10” to keep rubber on the road, the XO-1 should be available December 30th.
