Screw Online Ads – Except on Gadizmo.com!

The cure to the Internet’s shameless advertising bombardments is here:  AdBlock Plus!

Even in a tank built on pop-up blockers, anti-virus software (for you Windows folks out there) and spam-a-lot eaters, surfing the Net can still be a volatile journey similar to trench warfare.  The computed hay fields may appear lush and flowery, but the unseen dike ahead can ambush users with painful ads.

What do advertisements do, if nothing else?  They gouge out the scenic views with horribly distracting muck that sears one’s field of vision.  Then came the ultimate weapon for heavy and light Internet traversers alike:  AdBlock Plus.

Look for yourself, and be free of nearly every ad that banners and butchers even the most pristine Web sites (except Gadizmo.com).  AdBlock Plus is a free add-on piece of software from Mozilla, which attaches automatically to Firefox and transforms the computing experience immediately.  You do not have to do a thing to it to work, though there are ways to allow and customize which sites you want to see advertising on (like Gadizmo.com).

There is one small catch.  This software is an add-on, which means that it only attaches to and aids those who use the Mozilla browser Firefox.  The program is, after all, free through use of the Mozilla Foundation.  Other browsers are in the works for acquiring this too, such as Google Chrome.

Personally, I have been a fan of Mozilla since their Netscape years and for all of its faults (especially the annoying updates at times), I prefer this as my default browser.  And Firefox and AdBlock Plus are FREE!  That’s right, FREE!

Why watch the awful paper ads at the top third of the screen when eBaying?  Why cringe when your own blog rises with black eyes that offer up discounted toiletries?  Block the ads!  Or, as I like to say:  screw online ads!
