Your favorite mini spy tank is back with an upgrade that is more than just a flashy new paint job.
The Rover 2.0 has picked up where its app-controlled, video grabbing, eavesdropping predecessor left off and added a controllable wide angled lens, remote headlights, two-way audio, bigger motor, and an upgraded application that now allows for direct uploading to popular social services.
A new wide-angle lens makes for better views of the battlefield while the adjustable directional feature makes sure nothing will escape your prying eye. The camera also features remote infrared capability — simply turn off the headlights and switch into stealth mode to record in the dark.
Like its little brother, the 2.0 has a built in microphone so you can pick up on everything in earshot but, with the new built-in speaker system, you can now broadcast your own reply. This kind of two way communication means a future without bothersome human interaction is finally here!
Although the 200ft clear shot range hasn’t changed, the 25% boost in speed means you’ll be able to monitor your zones in less time. I’m sure the added speed and new features will come at a cost to that unupgraded 6AA battery pack so, you’ll probably want to pick up a good set of rechargabales.
The Rover 2.0 ships on September 10th, you can pre-order yours now for $149.
