This dream of a sushi-wielding giant can perfectly pack an rice ball at such an alarming rate, you might have to stop the Chef and beg him to take a five-minute oil break.

Imagine it: the conference hall is barely lit, the events are winding down, and as you traverse Tokyo’s Fooma Japan con, an annual food automation trade show, a gleam off of stainless steel arm catches your eye.

Just around a bend and past a number of less intriguing booths is a massive moving mini-factory; and then you realize it’s a miracle bot.

All you have to do is add sushi rice to the hopper, set the tofu skins on a turntable, and watch as the bot effortlessly crafts fishless inarizushi. The chef robot uses an air nozzle to automatically inflate the tofu pouches just enough to pack the rice in adeptly.

The automation firm Suzumo invented this master chef bot for high-end commercial sushi restaurants so, don’t be surprised when it costs you $50,000 to unleash Asimov’s (iRobot’s inventor, people) worst nightmare unto your world.
