Video Game SHOCK Collars from Genezap

Break out the classic video games for an electrifying experience like no other, as Genezap offers up collars that will shock players when they take critical damage.

Don’t tell me you’ve never thought about this: You know, when your sister defeated you for the seventh straight time in Mario Cart 64, and then showed you up in Sonic . . . again! And you wanted to try that shock collar the dog was wearing so badly, but not on the pooch . . .

Well a couple of French gaming enthusiasts (turned modders) took it upon themselves to craft the Genezap from the bottom of a bottle of Jagermeister (notice the bottle of Jagermeister at the 12-second mark).

With the source of inspiration downed, a Sega Genesis was adapted to include the shock dog collar and incorporate it into the controllers. Then the evil geniuses did some minor coding of games like Sonic and Battletoads so that whenever their warrior took a critically damaging blow they would get a non-lethal, but painful, electric shock.

If you have ever thought that dying in games warranted more than the vibration that a controller might dish out, Genezap adds an impactful twist. And I thought it was hurtful just to gaze longingly at all of the coins Sonic drops when hit (it took time to get near a hundred of those damn things after all), but this makes for a greater impetus on not being less than perfect.

If the simply laid out instructions of the Genezap procedures can be brought to the Nintendo 64, we can all have the four player James Bond tournaments with friends, in GoldenEye, that we’ve dreamed of for over a decade. You’re going to die, OddJob!
