MTV Networks teamed up with Matt Groening and the TV space hit “Futurama” to create the first ever “Head in a Jar” creator App. And it is one hundred percent free!
Who has not wanted to see their cartoon likeness alive, and well, hundreds of years into the future, via a (smiling, or grimacing) head in a jar? For any fans of the show, the “Futurama Head in a Jar” App is a must-have, or a no-brainer (and brains are best left preserved inside glass jars, after all, folks).
This unique and strangely entertaining application for iPods, iPhones, and the iPad, serves the purpose of creating anyone’s likeness via the Matt Groening drawn cartoon heads and bodily features. The sounds and visuals are right out of the show’s extraordinary space delivery team’s adventures.
Anyone who has ever created an avatar for the X-Box or a Mii for the Wii will easily be able to pick out a giant alien eye, an oddly wrinkled old head, or a Zoidberg set of noses using swipes on the touchscreen; the custom head will forever be encased in fluid, glass, and social media web sites.
Choose angry eyes, Frye’s hair, a robot cranium, or alien antennae (coming out of the ear painfully). Then choose a scene from “Futurama”, like the one shown here, where Dr. Farnsworth is pulling your jar down in the shop. Then fill the jar with bubbling liquid to finish off the project.
Each head can be displayed easily onto Facebook and Twitter, or just saved into the Pictures folder for the creator’s device.
Go enjoy the hell out of this one, or, as Bender would say, “kiss my shiny metal ass!”
