This very thing just happened to us. My fiance was at her sister's house when the thin strap broke and the Wii remote went flying into the brand new plasma tv and broke the screen. Why would Nintendo manufacture something so cheaply knowing that their shortcoming can destroy an extremely expensive tv? This sucks because there's nothing to do but buy a replacement tv!
