Wow! The world will now don far less neglected (and dead) house plants!

On a personal note, there has never been an app to completely and utterly transform my life in a such a revolutionary way, because everything I have ever attempted to grow in my life has either been too watered down or not watered nearly enough and died an untimely death.

I mean I even managed to kill a fern. A fern!

The victim – I mean fern – was in a pot soaking up the humid air in the bathroom and after watering it too much to the point of rot, I went into an overcompensating mode that consisted of ignoring its need to drink up the good stuff until it shriveled and gave up.

Grow plants and herbs in the Planty smart pot, and the wi-fi enabled device will send you suggestions to care for the flowering fauna based on temperature, light, soil, and water sensors.

If the light or ambient heat is too strong a Planty message will ping your iPhone yelling at you to move the plant somewhere cooler or to lower the heat settings.

If you leave for vacation, or just forget to water the damn thing before leaving for work for a week straight, simply listen to the Planty app and PRESTO, with one push of a button you can remotely feed just the right amount of water from within the Planty pot!

Planty is the horticulturist that you are not and does for houseplants a lot like what the Nest does for home thermostats.

In fact, Planty is made to connect with other smart devices such as a Nest thermostat, Philips smart bulb, or a Smart Switch, and if your herb requires a warmer temperature, Planty can instruct Nest to increase the room temperature, or if it needs more light, it can alert the Smart Switch to turn on a nearby lamp.

Get in on the Planty Early Bird Special on Kickstarter for $89 beans before they are all gone.
