Nike has released a revision to their Nike+iPod armband for the iPod nano. As an owner of the first generation armband I’ve been relatively pleased with it. It fits tight and snug when running, and makes it super easy to change tracks and get info about the current workout.
This new armband has a couple of features the previous did not. You can now view the nano’s screen through a clear window, and control the click wheel through the provided embossed control labels.
Nothing too dramatic that makes me want to rush out and purchase the armband, I’m fine to stick with the “first generation.” That being said, if you are the active type and don’t have one yet, it is nice to not have to worry about your iPod jumping out of your pocket.
The Nike+ Sport Armband is available now for $29.
We all know there are hundreds of different kinds of cases that claim to keep your iPod safe and sound. I for one drop my iPod Mini and Nano all the time and I have yet to break either of them. Maybe I am lucky but, I just don’t see any reason to cover up a metallic shell with plastic. How much sense does that make?
I will tell you what I just might cover up my iPod with and that is a custom leather case from ifrogz. It truly does look sleek, classy, and custom. Not to mention, nothing says I am better than you more so than wrapping your iPod in leather when your friends can’t even afford a Shuffle.
XtremeMac has released the first high-fidelity iPod recorder with a removable microphone for the video iPod. The MicroMemo plugs right into your dock connection port and will record memos, meetings, lectures, or any audio content directly to your iPod. It comes with a flexible removable microphone but it should be noted that any microphone with a 3.5mm plug is compatible. The best part is the MicroMemo requires no additional batteries as it will run off of the iPod power supply. For under $50 this is a great gadget for a person on the go.
iPod docks are a dime a dozen so I really do try and post only what I consider the best. The new Luna from XtremeMac is more than just an alarm clock dock. It is an exceptional piece of artistic design that truly is functional. With two full range speakers driven by a powerful amplifier you can either be rocked out of bed immediately or gradually with its optional increasing volume speaker. It should also be noted that the Luna has a customizable sleep function that gives you more flexibility than the standard 9 minute aggravating snooze buttons.
I am a big fan of iPod docking stations, especially ones that you don’t want to hide because they might be… less aesthetically pleasing. The new JBL Radial gives you great functionality with even better design. The feature that really does it for me is the Radials ability to plug directly into your computer thus replacing those crackly old standard computer speakers. It also has a stereo mini jack so you can plug just about any kind of portable media player right into it. I happen to have the Bose sound dock for my iPod and although it is great, I must say that the fact that it has ZERO jacks to plug anything into really bugs me.
It wasn’t all that long ago that I was in school, and let me tell you there was no gadget more handy then my iPod docking station / speaker system. Being in a college dorm or apartment means space is at a premium and your music is a must have. That is why the mStation Orb is such a handy gadget. It’s your docking station, stereo system, and starting 12/1/06 it’s a colorful piece of art all rolled into one.
Every Orb includes a 10 key remote that allows you to navigate within playlists from a distance, as well as adjust the volume, bass, and treble. At approx 8” in diameter the mStation 2.1 Stereo Orb is the perfect addition to any home, office, or dorm room. Large colorful eye candy like photos after the jump…
